In this interview he talks with me about losing stomach fat without doing the dreaded crunches.</p>
<p>Lisa: Scott, what&#8217;s a common misconception about losing stomach fat and getting a six pack of abs?</p>
<p>Scott: The most common misconception that most people mistakenly believe is that they can do a few crunches everyday and that&#8217;s it. Unfortunately, that&#8217;s just not true. In order to really lose stomach fat you need to put on lean muscle tissue through strengthening exercises, do some high intensity interval training and watch your diet. Doing crunches alone is not going to get you a flat stomach.</p>
<p>Lisa: So, it&#8217;s a combination of diet, exercise and building muscle? What are some exercises we can do that are more effective for losing stomach fat?</p>
<p>Scott: One of my favorite exercises, that I recommend as a far superior abdominal exercise, is the push-up.</p>
<p>Lisa: Why do you recommend push ups?</p>
<p>Scott: There are many reasons why. The most important one is consistency. When you get into a proper push-up position with your back straight your abs have to work the entire time to support your body. When you lower your body in a push-up and when you lift it, at no point in time are your abdominal muscles relaxing. This is very different from when you are doing a crunch. During a crunch, your abdominals are relaxed, during a great deal of the exercise. It is not until you raise your body up, that the abdominals are engaged. As a result your stomach muscles are relaxed, making it harder to lose stomach fat.</p>
<p>Lisa: Are their other reasons for using push ups instead of crunches for losing stubborn stomach fat?</p>
<p>Scott: Another reason to use a push up instead of crunches to lose stomach fat is that you are also getting a great upper body workout. The push ups increase strength and stability to your stomach, helping you to lose stomach fat. This creates leaner muscle tissue as well as working your chest, shoulders and triceps.</p>
<p>Another benefit of using push-ups instead of crunches is that it takes less time than doing crunches and push ups. So many times I see people in the gym, do crunches and then go on to do push-ups? Why do both? Why not use one of the seven variations of push-ups, which are perfect for losing stomach fat without wasting time on crunches. Your time is valuable, and if you are like most people you definitely want to do more in less time. Using push-ups instead of crunches to lose stomach fat helps you to accomplishes that.</p>
<p>Lisa: Scott, thank you so much for your time today, and for your suggestions, and the benefits of those suggestions, on losing stomach fat without having to do crunches. Most people hate the dreaded sit up exercise anyway, so it is good to know we have more effective alternatives that will also shorten our workout, giving us more time to do the other things we enjoy.</p>

<p>True, you can&#8217;t. There are thousands upon thousands of products, programs, websites etc that will tell you how to lose belly fat via diet pills or specific exercises, but your genetics will ultimately determine where you lose your excess body fat. Bottom line &#8211; you can&#8217;t lose that gut and leave other body parts covered in flab.</p>
<p>So, why start an article about losing belly fat by telling you that you can&#8217;t. If you think about it, I&#8217;m not. What I am saying however is that to achieve a slimline stomach you have to reduce fat all over your body. If you think about it, this is good news! Can you even imagine what you would look like if you had a perfect six pack and still carried around those moobs, chubby legs and bulging love-handles?</p>
<p>So, on to it &#8211; how to get a beautiful mid-section. Read the rest of this article and I&#8217;ll explain the two simple steps : Diet and &amp; Exercise</p>
<p>Diet</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve heard it said many a time (in the gym, in magazines, on the web) that &#8216;Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym&#8217;. It&#8217;s even one of my favorite lines when discussing diet and exercise. To a large extent, this saying is very much correct. Although exercise is an essential part of losing fat, ab exercises will not help you one bit unless your body fat is already below 10 &#8211; 12% and you want to add definition, size and tone to your abs. As a matter of fact, at higher body fat percentages, ab exercises make your belly stick out even more due to creating bigger muscles under the flab! So, always keep in mind, the most important aspect to control in your endeavor to lose belly fat is your diet</p>
<p>Exercise</p>
<p>When I talk about exercise I&#8217;m really talking about a combination of 3 things : sustained, low intensity cardiovasuclar exercise; High intensity interval training (or HIIT for short) and perhaps most important of all &#8211; training with resistance equipment. Sustained, low intensity cardio has been the long preferred method of bodybuilders for cutting excess fat prior to competition. This puts low demands on your body and is particularly useful if you have a low fitness level. HIIT, however, is considerably more effective. After building up a decent base level of fitness with low intensity cardio, a shift to HIIT can accelerate your fat loss like crazy. HIIT involves alternating between low and high intensity cardio activities (e.g walking and running). The third, and in my opinion, the most important factor, is resistance training. A good resistance training program not only burns calories (and therefore fat) during the exercise, but can also continue to burn fat for a considerable period following the training session.</p>
<p>So that&#8217;s it &#8211; the basics of how to get rid of your belly fat and move on to a slimmer, better looking body. I hope this has helped you in your weight loss goals!</p>

<p>Surely everyone is aware what liposuction is. It is a surgical method being used to provide a significantly slimmer body. The problem is that when people hear surgical blood and knives instantly come into their mind. But this is not the case with liposuction. It is actually a quite simple method. First, the doctor applies anesthesia to the site where a small incision would be made. This incision would then accommodate a stainless steel thin tube called a cannula. The cannula would be attached to a suction machine strong enough to suction the excess fat deposits between the skin and muscles. When the fat deposits are sucked out, the empty space would cause the skin to collapse making a slimmer shape where it used to be rather bulky. That is how easy liposuction is.</p>
<p>There is however existing guidelines before you undergo liposuction. Of course the first and the most important is that your doctor should approve. There should also be the presence of the tough fat cells that would make reducing almost impossible for your doctor to agree; otherwise all you need to do is to hit the gym. You should also be healthy and in top condition with no medical problems other than being overweight. Your weight should also be slightly above average because there are some liposuction procedures that involve the introduction of some medications before starting to melt the fats so that it would be easier to remove.</p>
<p>There are also some guidelines when it comes to liposuction despite it being practically risk free. The results would be better on a younger client because the younger you are the more firm your skin is therefore harboring satisfactory results. But when you get older, the elasticity of your skin decreases which might cause some unwanted results after the procedure.</p>
